The Victron SmartSolar MPPT is the most popular solar charge controller in caravans, campers, boats and off-grid sheds, and for good reason. Its maximum power point tracking squeezes up to 30% more energy out of your panels than a basic PWM controller, it charges lead-acid and lithium batteries correctly, and built-in Bluetooth lets you see exactly what your solar is doing in the VictronConnect app.
Reading the model name: in 100/30, the first number (100) is the maximum PV open-circuit voltage in volts, and the second (30) is the maximum battery charge current in amps. Make sure your panels' cold-weather open-circuit voltage stays below the first number, and pick a charge current that suits your array size and battery bank.
