The larger Victron SmartSolar MPPT controllers handle serious solar arrays, up to 100A of charge current and 250V PV input. They suit off-grid homes, big caravan and truck setups, marine and commercial systems. They have the same proven MPPT tracking and Bluetooth as the smaller models, plus an optional plug-in display and VE.Can networking on most models.
Reading the model name: in 100/30, the first number (100) is the maximum PV open-circuit voltage in volts, and the second (30) is the maximum battery charge current in amps. Make sure your panels' cold-weather open-circuit voltage stays below the first number, and pick a charge current that suits your array size and battery bank.
Tr, MC4 and VE.Can
- Tr: PV and battery cables into screw terminals inside a wiring compartment.
- MC4: PV connects with standard MC4 solar connectors (multiple strings), with no need to open the case for the array.
- VE.Can: adds VE.Can ports for daisy-chaining multiple controllers and connecting to a GX device. It's good for large multi-controller systems. All models also have VE.Direct and Bluetooth.
