The Victron SmartShunt is a full battery monitor without a display. Your phone is the screen. It connects by Bluetooth to the free VictronConnect app and shows state of charge, time remaining, voltage, current, power and full history for your battery bank. It's the easiest way to add proper battery monitoring to a caravan, camper, boat, 4WD or off-grid system, with no panel to cut into a wall.
Standard or IP65?
The standard SmartShunt suits dry installs: battery boxes, under-seat compartments, switchboards. The IP65 SmartShunt is fully water and dust resistant, with the electronics sealed into the shunt. Choose it for engine bays, bilges, trays and anywhere exposed to spray or weather. Both work the same way and pair with the same app.
Choosing a size
Pick a shunt rated above the highest continuous current your system draws or charges at. 300A suits most campers and small boats, 500A covers larger inverters (up to around 3000W on 12V), and 1000A or 2000A suit big 12V inverters and high-current systems.
