The Victron Orion-Tr Isolated is a galvanically isolated DC-DC converter. It turns one DC system voltage into a stable, regulated output at another voltage, or the same voltage, with the input and output fully separated. Use it to run 12V gear off a 24V or 48V truck, boat or solar system, power 24V equipment from a 12V vehicle, or give sensitive electronics a clean, isolated supply where ground loops or noise are a problem.

Not a battery charger. The Orion-Tr Isolated holds a fixed output voltage. It doesn't run a charge cycle. To charge a second battery from a vehicle or another battery bank, choose an Orion-Tr Smart or Orion XS DC-DC charger instead. Not sure which you need? Call us on (07) 4052 1901.

Choosing a model

Pick your input voltage (the system you're running from), then your output voltage (what your equipment needs), then the output current. Size it for the continuous current your load draws. Units can be paralleled if you need more.

Key features

  • Full galvanic isolation: 200VDC between input, output and case, so there's no shared negative and no ground loops.
  • Stable output whatever the input does: buck-boost regulation keeps the output steady across the whole input range (e.g. 8–17V on 12V models, 16–35V on 24V, 32–70V on 48V).
  • Adjustable output voltage: 10–15V on 12V outputs, 18–30V on 24V and 40–60V on 48V.
  • Remote on/off terminal: switch it with a small switch or the engine ignition, with no high-current switch needed in the input wiring. Draws under 200µA when off.
  • Parallel for more power: any number of units can be connected in parallel.
  • Protected: short circuit proof, with output current reduced automatically at high temperature. 12V and 24V input models have a built-in input fuse.
  • Screw terminals, with no special tools needed. IP43 when mounted with the terminals facing down.
